Celebrate 50 years of St Mary's Music School by joining them for an unforgettable evening where pupils, alumni and choristers take to the stage to perform a range of works by Beethoven, Copland and Sir Maxwell-Davies.

The concert will feature world premieres of two commissions from esteemed composers Sir James MacMillan and Judith Weir.

The concert will showcase some of the finest musicians in the country, all former pupils of St Mary's Music School, including trumpeter Aaron Akugbo, violinist Colin Scobie, piper Brìghde Chaimbeul, cellist Philip Higham, oboist Katherine Bryer and pianist and school vice president Steven Osborne OBE.

Aaron Akugbo has performed as a soloist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Chineke! and National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. Colin Scobie is first violinist of the internationally renowned Maxwell Quartet. Brighde Chaimbeul won the 2016 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. Philip Higham is principle cellist in the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and has performed as a soloist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Katherine Bryer has appeared with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, and Philharmonia Orchestra. In August 2022 Katherine was appointed as Sub-Principal Oboe with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
