As our contribution to Fair Saturday Scotland, part of the global Fair Saturday initiative, we're excited to be partnering with our friends at The Soundhouse Organisation to bring a unique line-up to our stage for one night only.

We present a unique concert for Fair Saturday which highlights the range of music that Edinburgh’s Soundhouse Organisation supports and programmes through the year. Expect a wealth of folk, jazz, experimental, singer-songwriter and Gaelic song, topped with a sprinkling of poetic magic by Edinburgh Makar Hannah Lavery.

Hannah’s piece ‘Edinburgh Is A Story’ will form a pivot point to the evening. The work evokes the many layers of history and culture in the capital city, so we root the evening spiritually in Edinburgh while looking outwards globally through this incredibly evocative poem.

We have a stunning array of musicians and singers for the evening. They are Kathleen MacInnes, Aidan O’Rourke, Martin Green, Graeme Stephen, Inge Thomson, Phil Bancroft, Tom Bancroft, Anise Pearson, Vini Bonnar and the mighty Soundhouse Choir led by Heather Macleod.

In the spirit of Fair Saturday and its ethos of promoting social inclusion, kindness and sharing, each act will spend a moment in each other's company - passing the music and the essence of this global event from one act to another.

The Queen’s Hall is proud to have been a supporter of the initiative since 2018.

ABOUT SOUNDHOUSE

The Soundhouse Organisation is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, founded in 2013. Their aim is to establish a small to medium sized music venue in Edinburgh. They are passionate about live music and so while they look for a place to call their own they put on concerts in spaces with good sight lines and acoustics, programme music for festivals including our own Edinburgh Tradfest and run the Soundhouse Choir.
