In the seventies and eighties, The Lost Poets - Ron Butlin, Andrew Greig, Liz Lochhead, Brian McCabe and musician Jim Hutcheson - were Scotland’s response to the Liverpool Poets.
For many years The Lost Poets were regulars at the Edinburgh Fringe and The Netherbow Theatre and elsewhere. With their unique blend of poetry and music they proved to be an inspiration for much of today’s Spoken Word movement. Each of them went on to highly successful careers as novelists, playwrights and visual artists, as well as continuing to publish poetry.
This event is a follow on from the successful occasion in February 2020 at The National Library of Scotland and the publication of The Lost Poets: Found by Birlinn which you can buy here.
