Two proud musical traditions meet in Edinburgh for a unique anniversary concert.

Phileutonia, a Dutch symphonic wind orchestra celebrating its 175th year, joins forces with the world-famous Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band for an evening where heritage, friendship and musical craftsmanship come together.

Both ensembles carry a deep and living musical culture. Boghall’s pipes and drums are rooted in centuries of Scottish tradition, yet known worldwide for their precision and modern flair. Phileutonia brings the rich European wind band tradition: powerful, lyrical, and shaped by generations of musicians who believe that music is a shared civic art — something you build together, over time.

In this concert, each ensemble presents its own repertoire, before coming together on stage in a specially created collaboration. You will hear how two very different musical languages find common ground: in rhythm, in melody, and in the joy of playing for and with an audience.

This is not a crossover gimmick, but a meeting of equals. A celebration of what it means to keep a tradition alive by opening it up to others.

Join us for an evening of musical storytelling, cultural exchange and sheer listening pleasure — a warm and spirited night across the North Sea.
