Southside of the Tracks 2027

Southside Of The Tracks returns to kick off 2027 at The Queen's Hall, bringing together some of the most exciting voices in contemporary folk, roots and songwriting. Brilliant musicians making music together.

Joining the exceptional house band this year is a remarkable line-up of guests, including Aimee Carty, Rachel Sermanni, Joshua Burnside and Siobhan Miller and - we're not quite finished yet - two more very special guests are still to be revealed.

We're keeping their names under wraps for now, but Southside 2027 will include the first glimpse of a brand-new musical collaboration before it heads out into the world, alongside a very special young guest representing the next generation of Scotland's extraordinary traditional music story.
 

About the guests

Aimee Carty
Galway singer-songwriter Aimee Carty has become one of Ireland's most exciting young artists. Her breakthrough song 2 Days into College introduced her warm, honest songwriting to a global audience, with her music now amassing well over 100 million streams. Blending folk, pop, classical and traditional influences, she brings an unmistakably fresh voice to the Southside stage.

Rachel Sermanni
Scottish singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni has a rare ability to find something magical in the everyday. Dreamy, intimate and quietly compelling, her songs explore love, motherhood, womanhood, creativity and the strange business of being alive. Her fourth studio album, Dreamer Awake, is perhaps her most candid and searching collection yet.

Joshua Burnside
From Northern Ireland comes, an artist who has continually pushed at the edges of what folk music can be. Drawing together Irish traditional music, alternative electronica, found sound and experimental production, his songs are atmospheric, visceral and deeply human. His 2026 album It’s Not Going To Be Okay followed the acclaimed Teeth of Time and further cemented his reputation as one of the most distinctive songwriters working today.

Siobhan Miller
One of Scotland's best-loved singers, brings the warmth, joy and extraordinary voice that have made her a defining presence in Scottish folk music. A four-time BBC Alba Scots Singer of the Year and BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner, Siobhan's career has taken her from Celtic Connections and the Transatlantic Sessions to Broadway, Outlander and stages across Europe, North America and Australia.

John McCusker, John Blease, Ewen Vernal, Ian Carr, Kris Drever and Toby Shaer - six musicians whose collective careers span some of the most celebrated records, stages and collaborations in folk and roots music.
