Quatuor Agate

Named as ECHO Rising Stars 2024/25, the Quatuor Agate brings a distinctive blend of French refinement and high-octane energy to this diverse programme, beginning with the wit and "gypsy" influences of Haydn's String Quartet in D major, Op 20 No 4. 

Their interpretation of Korngold's second string quartet navigates the work's lush, late-Romantic textures and cinematic flair with sophisticated lyricism. Finally, the programme culminates in a performance of Schubert's 'Rosamunde' Quartet, where their ability to balance fragile melancholy with structural precision will allow the haunting, song-like melodies to resonate with profound emotional clarity.
