Founded in 1960 by Joseph Shabalala during the apartheid, the group became an international phenomenon, earning five GRAMMY Awards and nineteen nominations while sharing messages of hope, peace, and unity through song.

Renowned for their distinctive isicathamiya vocal style and their celebrated collaboration with Paul Simon on the landmark album Graceland, Ladysmith Black Mambazo remains one of South Africa’s most treasured cultural ambassadors. Now led by Joseph Shabalala’s sons, the group continues to bring its uplifting, unforgettable live performances to audiences worldwide.
