NOVO Quartet

Formed in Copenhagen in 2018 the NOVO Quartet are one of today’s most exciting young ensembles. 

They are BBC New Generation Artists and were placed within The Young Artistic Elite 2024-26 by the Danish Arts Foundation. Haydn’s uncompleted farewell to the string quartet Op 103 is a glorious fragment. The eighth string quartet by Shostakovich is perhaps the most highly regarded of all his quartets. Smetana, acknowledged as the father of Czech music, described his first string quartet as a tone poem of his life including a wide range of distinctive music depicting romantic yearning and joyful reminiscences – some of the most dramatic and unforgettable chamber music ever written.
