The Dunedin Consort and Players, Scotland’s award-winning Baroque ensemble, return to The Queen's Hall to perform their annual Matthew Passion by JS Bach. This work was first performed at Easter between 1727-29 and the Dunedin Consort’s performances have now become firmly rooted in Scotland’s musical calendar. The concert, performed in German, expresses the emotion and drama of the Passion story alternating with Picander’s poignant and devotional verse. The date of this performance is especially fitting as it falls on the anniversary of Bach’s birthday.
