Cuba’s outstanding son group from Havana, Sierra Maestra return to The Queen’s Hall promoting their latest album Sonando Ya which was nominated for a 2010 Latin Grammy. The group is now celebrating 34 years since their formation and have played a key part in the recent worldwide boom in Cuban traditional music. In 1995 their tres player Juan de Marcos González conceived the idea that led to the recording of the famous Buena Vista Social Club album which four members of Sierra Maestra performed on.
