Joseph Swensen: conductor; Henning Kraggerud: violin

There is a thread running throughout the 2009/10 season: The Age of Romanticism, from its seed (Mozart and Haydn) to its later flowering (Janáček, Sibelius and Strauss among others). Swensen sweeps through more than a century from the triumph of Beethoven’s Fifth, to Borodin’s epic and exotic landscape and Sibelius’ arresting concerto.
