This sensational young French quartet gave storming performances in ecat's 2007-08 season. ecat is delighted to welcome them back for a week of concerts, lectures and workshops. Quatuor Diotima has recently recorded highly acclaimed performances of the Janacek quartets, as well as playing definitive versions of all three Lachenmann quartets. The 22 February programme includes classics like George Crumb’s Black Angels and Webern's Six Bagatelles, alongside the work of the young French post-Modernist, Gerard Pesson, to give a dazzling view of the contemporary quartet repertoire.
“One is amazed by the seriousness, the lyricism, the unity of playing and the splendour of the sound, passionate from beginning to end.” (Le Monde de la Musique)
