Gavin Bryars’ Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet is - alongside Brian Eno’s Obscure label and the invention of ambient music - one of the iconic works of the English Experimental tradition. ecat pays tribute to the groundbreaking Ladbroke Grove Experimental Music catalogue by exploring some of its more intriguing and little-known corners, including Gavin Bryars’ The Ride Cymbal and the Band that Caused the Fire in the Sycamore Tree, John White’s Purple Passage for two percussionists, Christopher Hobbs' A Fair Lick and early Howard Skempton. Gavin Bryar's Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet is probably the best known of Experimental Music's works, having recently been revisited by Tom Waits.
