Gretchen Peters: 20th Anniversary Tour

21 February 2016 at 7:30pm

2016 will mark the 20th anniversary of the release of Gretchen Peters' first album, The Secret Of Life, and her first UK tour, when she performed in small venues to audiences of 30 - 40 people. Since then she has gone on to a successful career as a songwriter for many leading artists and establishing herself as a mesmerising live performer touring constantly throughout the world. Her new album, scheduled for release in January 2016, The Essential Gretchen Peters is a double album which includes both a retrospective of Peters' best work chosen from a 20 year recording career, and rarities never before released.

Inducted into the prestigious Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014, she has long been one of Music City's most beloved and respected artists, known never to shy away from darkness and struggle in her writing. Martina McBride's recording of her stirring Independence Day, a song that deals with domestic abuse, was nominated for a Grammy and took home Song of the Year honours at the CMAs, and her work has been performed by the likes of Etta James, Neil Diamond and Trisha Yearwood.

Gretchen will be joined onstage by: Barry Walsh: keyboards; Conor McCreanor: bass; Colm McLean: pedal steel & electric guitar

"Establishes her as the natural successor to Lucinda Williams" (Uncut)

Congratulations to Gretchen for her International Album of the Year award for Blackbirds and International Song of the Year award with Ben Glover at The Americana Music Association UK, 2016
