For 55 years, alumni of the renowned musical charity Park Lane Group have invigorated the upper echelons of classical music, its annual London concerts a must for serious classical enthusiasts.
Here, in its first regional tour, Future Classics showcases two outstanding new talents with an adventurous and imaginative romantic and classical repertoire: the compelling Piatti Quartet, and Clare Hammond, a pianist of ‘amazing power and panache’ (The Daily Telegraph).
Winners of the St. Martins in the Fields Chamber Music Competition and the Martin Musical/Philarmonia Scholarship Fund 2010 the Piatti Quartet are fast emerging as one of the UK’s leading young string quartets.
‘The prize for poise, blended tone and general lustre was ultimately won by the Piatti String Quartet’ (The Times)
Acclaimed by The Daily Telegraph as a pianist of “amazing power and panache”, Clare Hammond has performed across Europe, Russia and Canada and has appeared over the past year at the Wigmore and Barbican Halls in London and the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. Her recent Purcell Room debut for the Park Lane Group concert series was praised by The Guardian for its “crisp precision and unflashy intelligence”.
