The Queen's Hall presents

Fraser Fifield Band

21 October 2009 at 8:00pm
at The Queen's Hall

The acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and folk-jazz innovator celebrates the release of his fourth solo album, ‘Stereocanto’, bringing together a new grouping of some of Scotland’s finest musicians.

One of the world’s leading low whistle players, Fifield has taken the instrument into new territory through his immersion in all manner of musical styles, through Bagpipe, Jazz, Classical, Eastern European folk and beyond.

Fifield’s soprano sax, whistle and bagpipes, and the sensational drums and guitar of Alyn Cosker and Graeme Stephen respectively, are joined by Mario Caribe on Acoustic and Electric Basses, taking the group out of it’s established trio format, making some of the most individual, genre-defying music to be found today.

“Serene yet vital, and quite unlike anything else you might have heard” (Songlines).
"One of Scotland's outstanding talents...." (Sunday Herald)
