Come and join the soloists and chorus of the acclaimed Edinburgh Gilbert and Sullivan Society for an evening of sparkling wit and glorious music, as they celebrate the centenary of W S Gilbert in a gala concert, led by Director Alan Borthwick and Musical Director David Lyle. In addition to a host of popular solos and ensembles from the Savoy Operas, the programme will include a semi-staged performance of Gilbert's rarely-heard opera The Mountebanks, with music by Alfred Cellier, one of Sullivan's assistant conductors at the Savoy Theatre.
