The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra presents KURT ELLING - STEPPIN' OUT!

The preeminent jazz vocalist of our time, Kurt Elling has cultivated a lasting partnership with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra over the past decade.

Spanning a diverse repertoire that encompasses the Great American Songbook, pop, rock, and beyond, Elling has collaborated with the SNJO on a series of captivating programs. From honouring the legendary Frank Sinatra to crafting the seasonal spiritual experience "Spirit of Light" and delving into profound philosophical themes in works such as "Apparition Bridge" and "Syntopicon," Elling's artistic vision knows no bounds.

In this latest meeting, Elling showcases his virtuosity through a thoughtfully curated selection of songs drawn from Sinatra's iconic albums, Basie and Ellington big band classics, enchanting show tunes, soul-stirring saxophone masterpieces by John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter, and 1980s pop hits by the Police and Joe Jackson. The musical journey continues with the masterly fusion of Weather Report and Elling's collaboration with the exceptionally talented guitarist Charlie Hunter in Superblue.
