Tam White - Retro

Tam White should have been on-stage tonight with one of Europe’s finest jazz piano players, Brian Kellock, in a celebration of Tam’s 50-plus years of making, writing, and performing music on the international stage. Tam’s untimely death in June 2010, however, has led instead to Brian bringing together some of Tam’s regular sidemen and musical friends to mark an altogether remarkable musical career - Gary Martin (vocals, harmonica, slide guitar), Neil Warden (guitar), and Paul Manson (acoustic bass) with perhaps a surprise guest or two.
The theme, of course, is the music and song that Tam loved. Expect songs from Ray Charles, Ricky Lee Jones, Tom Waits and others, plus one or two of Tam’s own compositions arranged by Brian. As Tam himself might have said, “No’ bad gadgie. No’ bad!”
