Just before 1700 in Southern Germany

Sonatas for violin and basso continuo by Biber, Muffat and Bertali, flanked by trio sonatas by Finger, Schmeizer and Erlebach.

Since 2005, the orchestra Harmony of Nations has enriched the concert landscape all over Europe. Twenty musicians from fourteen different European nations founded this outstanding formation. From time to time, violinist Johannes Heim (Germany) gathers individuals together to enjoy playing chamber music. For this concert Christian Kjos, harpsichord (Norway) and Riccardo Coelati Rama, viola da gamba (Italy) join to present a programme, which carries you away to the musical world of southern Germany ‘just before 1700’. Several sonatas for violin and basso continuo by Biber, Muffat and Bertali are flanked by trio sonatas by Finger, Schmelzer and Erlebach.

‘... they performed this adventure, creating not only joy but also marvel!’ (Neue Tageszeitung)
