Sara Watkin: Musicians’ Health

Dr. Sara Watkin has been the school doctor for London Studio Centre, assistant to the extraordinary Cirque du Soleil physiotherapy team and Honorary Physician for the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine. Sara now works in the NHS as a speciality doctor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and privately as an osteopath. Sara will explain pain, drawing upon everything from psychoanalytical theories about psyche-soma to neurophysiology and anatomy. She will think about why it is so hard for a fiddle player to balance what's best for their body with their passion (and bank balance).
