Perth Youth Orchestra

31 August 2011 at 7:30pm
at Greyfriars Kirk

Perth Youth Orchestra has performed regularly in Edinburgh over the years - being the only youth orchestra to perform at every one of the NAYO's 30 years of its Festival of British Youth Orchestra - and next year the orchestra celebrate their 50th Anniversary.

Our soloists - Rachael Smart (violin) and Heather Sadler (clarinet). Both players will be easily recognised by regular concert-goers since they have been making their way through the orchestra’s ranks for the past six or seven years. This evening, in front of their very talented peers, Rachael and Heather take centre stage to reward us for our investment in their outstanding musical ability.

Franz Von Suppé: Light Cavalry Overture
Gerald Finzi: Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra
Soloist: Heather Sadler (clarinet)
Leonard Bernstein: Symphonic Dances from Westside Story

Interval

Henryk Wieniawski: Legende
Soloist: Rachael Smart (violin)
